SBGC: Rules &Regulations: About player evaluations

About player evaluations (in-house sports)
SBGC considers player evaluations to be critical to our goal of holding a fair and equitable pre-season draft, and to promoting balanced and competitive teams in each age division, and are therefore mandatory for most age groups. During evaluations players are evaluated and ranked based upon demonstrated individual skills and/or team play.

Players Required to Attend Evaluations

All players of Official Age seven (7) and older must attend an evaluation session.

Evaluation Dates, Times, and Locations

Evaluations dates are dependent upon the sport, the exact dates, times, and locations of which sometime change from year to year due to a variety of factors.  Sometimes more than one evaluation session is held for a given age division. Visit our League Calendar area after registration closes for the date(s), time(s), and location(s) of your player's evaluation.

Ramifications of Not Attending Evaluations

Players who are required to attend evaluations, but do not:
  1. May not be selected to a team by a manager during the player selection process of the subsequent draft. Instead these players will be randomly assigned to teams by the age division's Commissioner once the selection portion of the draft is completed.
  2. May not be considered for "playing up" or "playing down" to the next higher or lower age division, since there will be no evaluation data on which to base such a decision.
